I met Phillip and Megan a little while back at Phillip's sister's maternity photography session. Here's a photo of Phillip helping his sister look majestic, it makes me laugh every time. So it was really nice to see them again and meet their dogs. I love shooting at Howard Park because you have such a big variety of looks in one location. Within just a little bit of walking and driving you have pine forests, beach, gardens, trails. and parks.
Aubrey and Jeremy were married this weekend in a friend's gorgeous backyard overlooking the Homosassa River. It looked like we would be rained out. It started pouring about an hour before the wedding was supposed to start and it didn't look like it was going to let up. The minutes ticked by and the bride and groom were trying to decide if they should bite the bullet and move the ceremony to the reception site or keep waiting. Just as they were making the sad decision that they had to move the rain suddenly stopped! It was clear for the rest of their perfect day. After a ceremony that not only included the bride and groom but also the bride's daughter Carli and the groom's children Aubrey, Brooklyn, and Garrett we headed over to The Seagrass Waterfront Restaurant and Resort for the reception. But the party wasn't over after that, the whole group hopped into a few boats to go to the springs and swim for the rest of the day. Congratulations Grangers!!
I just want to talk to you guys a little bit about a new idea I'm really excited about. Vision Boards!! Something I know a lot of my clients struggle with is how to decide and express what kind of look they're hoping for with their Engagement, family, or child photography session. Do I wan't a modern look, a romantic look, vintage? What kind of clothing and what location will help make my ideas a reality? How do I explain all this to Karah? Easy, Vision Boards! Go to Pinterest and make an account if you don't have one. Then start searching. If you have no idea what your vision is yet, try searching for something basic like "Engagement Photography ideas". Here's what I saw when I searched that phrase
This weekend I joined Kellie and Ron at their wedding at Citrus Hills Country Club in the beautiful Hampton room. Kellie and Ron were both so happy to join their two families together and there were lots of happy tears from everyone. After a sweet ceremony that included Kellie, Ron, and each of their children the party began! The dance floor was never empty.
This Weekend Annie and David got Married!! I met this sweet couple a few months back when they were still in the trenches of planning a beach wedding. And while the weather didn't cooperate with the beach venue they had a gorgeous rain plan venue at Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club. Annie and David have been together for five years and have an adorable baby boy together. They are so very in love and I think they're going to have many many happy years together.
A few months back I met Whitney and Mathew and photographed their wedding day. Now they've asked me back to take Whitney's maternity photos! We met saturday at The University of Tampa campus and she looked absolutely beautiful even though she had to trek around the campus on a very hot and humid day while very pregnant. I love it when I am able to see past clients again as their lives change!
I met up with Ami and Trent this past weekend at Clam bayou in Tampa to celebrate their Engagement. They live in Alexandria Virginia (which is coincidentally where I lived for a year back when I first got married) but they've decided to have a manatee wedding here in Florida and are here making preparations. I had a great time meeting them and they seem like a fun couple who are very much in love. Also, if I was a videographer instead of a photographer you would be able to hear some pretty terrible karaoke that was being blasted somewhere near-by while we were shooting. Poor Credence Clearwater Revival was getting butchered.
Katie and Stephen Reese were married this weekend at the Seminole Garden Center in Tampa FL. They had one of the most eclectic and personal weddings I have ever attended, from their pokeball ring box, to the book centerpieces, to their unity chemical reaction they put real thought into making every piece of the wedding reflect who they are as a couple. They planned every detail of their wedding themselves even though they were in Ohio throughout the planning process. They were married by a close friend and wrote their own vows. I'm very grateful to have had a chance to meet them and be a part of their day.
These two will be celebrating their 50th anniversary in June and they still seem so in love. I photographed their daughter with her husband and dogs a few months back so it was wonderful to be able to meet them and get to know them a bit. The best part was getting a chance to look through their wedding album, you can see a few of their wedding photos below.
I had so much fun meeting with Kat and her entourage for her Maternity Photos this weekend. She was such a good sport and up for anything we wanted to try. She also came with some very helpful assistants/dress throwers. When I first met with her a few weeks ago she was still so little that I didn't realize she was the one I was meeting because she didn't look pregnant. Luckily she's popped a bit since then but I still had to have her push her belly out a few times. I can't wait to meet her little boy in a few weeks to take his photos too!
